If you want to protect your ranch by fighting them off at the ranch, make sure your character is at the Ranch location at the time of their attack.
It will take some time for the bandits to reach you. Please note! You will be notified about the raid via a pop-up message. Once it is filled up, your ranch will get attacked. It gets filled by killing enemies who belong to the Bandits faction. On the top right corner of the screen, you can find the Bandits' anger indicator. This is due to the fact that cooked meat was automatically transferred to the Food storage. For example, you cooked food and were unable to take the cooked meal from the bonfire. In case you crafted something and were unable to take it directly from the bench/bonfire/farm, it means that you have corresponding storage to this type of item on your Ranch. Make sure to upgrade your workbenches to make craft faster and open up new craft items. You can craft all kind of things on your Ranch. This is also the way you can make wooden floor! Basic floor is not wooden, you must upgrade it to wooden :)
In case you want to move, upgrade or rotate a construction, tap on it whilst in the building mode. To build such constructions as wagon, dovecote, and bulletin board, you need to put them on the ranch, interact with them and either drag and drop necessary resources from your inventory to the construction screen or double click on the resources in your inventory. There, by navigating various tabs, you can choose which construction to build. To enter the building mode, you must tap on the white house icon on the top right corner of the map. This is where your journey in Westland begins. The Ranch is the place where you can build, craft, rest and do many other kinds of things.
